ALDA C. HOLDAMPF
GUILFORD – Alda Clara Holdampf, 91, of Guilford, went to be with Jesus on Sunday, August 23, 2015. She was born on March 11, 1924, daughter of the late William and Lottie (Van Patten) Chase in Ballston Spa, NY. On May 4, 1946, she was married to Mathew Holdampf in Colonie, NY and together, they loved to travel. He predeceased her on April 4, 1993 after nearly 47 years of marriage.
Alda’s faith was very important to her. In her earlier years, she was a member of Schenectady Assembly of God where she was active in teaching and the music programs. Most recently, she attended the Church of Christ in South New Berlin. Alda always saw the good in people and her greatest joy came from helping others.
She is survived by: her nephew, Wayne Matteson; cousin, John Holdampf; several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews, and by her adopted family, The Safford’s of Guilford.
In addition to her parents and husband, Alda was predeceased by her twin sister, Alma, and by her brother, William.
Friends may call from 5:00-6:00pm on Saturday, August 29th at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St. Sidney. Funeral services will begin at 6:00pm at the funeral chapel with Rev. David Dibbell officiating. Burial will take place on Monday in the Powell Wiswall Cemetery in Ballston Spa.
