RICHFIELD SPRINGS – John L. Coon, 42, a resident of the Robert Boss Farm, passed away Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006 at the M.I. Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown.
He was born Feb. 11, 1964 in Norwich, a son of Lee and Judith Gage Coon. He attended Sherburne-Earlville Central School and Norwich Central School. John had several employers over the years and most recently had worked at McDonald’s in Richfield Springs and helped on the farm. He was a member of the Boy Scouts Chapter of Herkimer County. He also enjoyed playing basketball, music and riding his moped. He was of the Methodist faith.
Surviving are his father, Lee N. Coon of Earlville; his mother, Judith Erb of Oxford; a brother, Joel Coon of Norwich; paternal grandmother Viola Jantzen of Earlville; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville.
Burial will be at the convenience of the family in the Earlville Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday from noon until 1 p.m.
