LORRAINE MAE WIGHTMAN
SOUTH NEW BERLIN – Lorraine May Wightman passed away at the Chenango Memorial Residential Healthcare Facility in Norwich, NY on August 24, 2015. Lorraine was born on June 6, 1926 in San Diego, CA to Thomas and Eva Currier. Lorraine was proud to have worked as a civilian clerk for the U.S. Navy. In San Diego, California is where she obtained her knowledge and love for music.
Lorraine moved to South New Berlin after marrying Robert Wightman who survives her. Lorraine worked as a Teaching Assistant for the South New Berlin School. She took pride in teaching students to play the piano. Lorraine played the organ for the St. Mathews Episcopal Church for many years until moving to New Port Ritchy, FL
She is survived by her husband “Robert” of South New Berlin and her children James Houghtaling, Sharon Calderone (FL), Sandra Izard (SNB), Robin Voorhis (SNB), Judith Boise (Mt.Upton), Karole Andrews (NB), and Beth Wightman (FL). Also surviving are 12 grand children and 11 great grand children. Lorraine was predeceased by a daughter “Linda”. There will be no calling hours or services per Lorraine’s request.
