EDWARD D. BUTLER
SHERBURNE – Edward D. Butler, 101 of Sherburne and formerly of Wallkill, passed away on Friday, July 31, 2015 at the Bassett Healthcare Center, Cooperstown.
He was born in Andes, NY on March 29, 1914 a son of Dan and Nancy Humphrey Butler and received his education in Andes. He served his country in the US Army during WW II. On June 6, 1952 in Tarrytown he married the former Ruth G. Rowland. She predeceased him. Mr. Butler was employed for over 25 years for the East Hudson Parkway Authority until his retirement.
Surviving are his sister Madolyn Paul of Sherburne; a special niece and nephew Bonnie Goedel of Sherburne, Ralph and Faith Goedel of Earlville, as well as many other nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers Maynard and Arnold Butler and a sister Arlene Butler.
Funeral services with Military Honors will be held on Monday evening, August 3, 2015 at 7 PM, from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
Interment will be private in the Westwood Cemetery in New Jersey.
Friends are invited and may call on Monday from 5 to 7 PM prior to the service.
