MONICA E. DALY
NORWICH – Monica E. Daly, 100, of Norwich, passed away Wednesday morning, July 29. 2015, at her home.
Monica was born on May 4, 1915 in Tipperary, Ireland the daughter of Christopher and Ellen (O’Dwyer) English. She came to the United States with her family in 1929 where they made their home in the New York City area. She attended the John Walton High School in the Bronx. She was employed at first by the Alexander Smith Co. in Yonkers and the R. Hoe Co. as a supervisor in the tabulator dept..Monica was a member of the St. Denis Parish and was a member of the Red Oak Womens Club. She moved to Norwich in 2006 to be with her family.
Monica is survived by her daughter Monica Kligerman, her son William M. Daly and companion Trish Lockwood all of Norwich and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Monica was predeceased by her husband William M. Daly in 1979, her granddaughter Ann Kligerman, her sisters Hannah Hanly, Helen O’Connor, Alise Mackey, Anne Honneberry, Mary Simkovch and Margaret Fogerty, her brothers William and Michael English and her son-in-law Michael Kligerman.
A Memorial Mass for Monica will be held on Thursday, August 6, at 10 a.m. from St. Bartholomew’s Roman Catholic Church. The Rev. Ralph A. Bove, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will be in the Gate of Heaven Cemetery of Hawthorne.
Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Wednesday evening from 6-8 p.m.
