EUGENIA A. SUTTON
NEW BERLIN – Eugenia Agnes Sutton, 88 yrs. old of New Berlin, NY passed away on July 20, 2015 at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown, NY.
She was born on July 4, 1927 in New Berlin, NY the daughter of George Hurbert and Agnes May (Backus) Caldine. Her childhood was spent in New Berlin, NY where she was a graduate of New Berlin Central School.
Shortly after graduating high school she began work at Preferred Mutual Insurance Company of New Berlin, NY. She retired in August 1992 as an officer of the company with the title of Assistant Vice President of Statistical Services.
She loved spending time with her family and her dog, playing the piano and trumpet, painting, gardening and flowers.
Eugenia is survived by her son; Roderick L. Sutton and his wife Joann Wormuth of Guilford, NY, her granddaughters; Alexandra Sutton-Pyle and her husband James-Patrick Pyle of Guilford, NY and Courtney N. Starr and her husband Craig Starr and their children; Michael Chase, Garrett Starr and Zachary Starr of Sidney, NY. She is also survived by her dear friend Roberta Dixson and her sister-in-law Betty Caldine of Fairfax, VA as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one brother; Harold George Caldine.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, July 27, 2015 at 6:00 PM with the Very Reverend Charles Taylor officiating. Calling hours will be held prior to the funeral service from 4:00-6:00PM at the Dakin Funeral Home, LP, New Berlin, NY.
Donations may be made to the Chenango County S.P.C.A., Norwich, NY.
