DAVID J. BAME
BAINBRIDGE  – David Jay Bame, 77, of Bainbridge, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at the New York State Veterans Home, Oxford. David was born on February 3, 1938, son of the late Chester and Florence (Greene) Bame in Bainbridge. Following high school, David enlisted in the US Navy and served his country honorably from 1956 until his discharge in 1960.
He worked for many years as an electrician for Amphenol Corp. in Sidney. He was a member of the Sidney Moose Lodge #277 and a lifelong member of St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, Bainbridge. He enjoyed local history and was an avid metal detector, collecting old bottles and coins. He also loved snowmobiling.
David is survived by: his wife, Doris Bame of Port Crane; two sons: David Bame, Jr. of Bainbridge and Doug Bame of Jacksonville, FL; daughter, Doreen Bame of Centreville, VA; grandchildren: Jay, Nissa and Dalton Bame; as well as several sisters and brothers-in-law.
A memorial service will be held at David’s home, 340 Parker Smith Hill Road in Bainbridge, on Sunday, July 26, 2015 at 3:00pm. Fr. David Hanselman will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, 1 Church St. Bainbridge, NY 13733.
