PETER FARNHAM
Peter R. Farnham, 54, formerly of Norwich, and more recently of Dallas, TX, passed away unexpectedly at his home on May 4, 2015.
Born March 10, 1961, in Norwich, Peter was the son of Gerald F. and Beatrice (Brewer) Farnham, each of whom had preceded Peter in death. After graduating from Norwich High School with the class of 1979, Peter went on to complete his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at SUNY Oneonta. His most recent endeavor was ownership and management of Vita Sackvill-West, a textile firm located in Dallas.
Peter had many interests including gardening, browsing flea markets for the next great find and starting on the next home improvement project. The thing that Peter most enjoyed, however, was being a volunteer and team leader at the Dallas-Fort Worth USO.
Peter is survived by siblings, Donna M. Snyder and husband, Warren, of Sebring, FL, Gerald M. Farnham and wife, Constance, of York, PA, Raymond J. Farnham and wife, Ann, of Atherton, CA, Kathleen A. Farnham, of Binghamton, Robert E. Farnham and wife, Catherine, of Fort Myers, FL, James W. Farnham and wife, Janet, of New Paltz, NY, and Timothy D. Farnham, of Oxford. Several nieces and nephews also survive. In addition to his parents, Peter was predeceased by an infant sister, Elizabeth M. Farnham.
A memorial service for Peter will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Our Lady of Sorrows Chapel located at St. Paul’s Cemetery in Norwich, where Timothy McNerney will officiate. Burial will take place immediately following the service.
