NORWICH – Curtiss F. Taylor Sr., 79, died Sept. 2, 2009 at his home in York, South Carolina after a period of declining health.
He was born in Hamilton, on Dec. 14, 1929 to Kenneth and Norma (Gibson) Taylor. He was raised in the Norwich area and spent many of his teen years working on his uncle’s farm on Pigeon Hill in Plymouth. He married Esther Nash in October, 1950 and moved, with his family, to South Edmeston in 1957 where he was employed by Kraft Foods. In 1978, he moved to South Carolina and settled in York.
He received his GED and served in the Army during the Korean War.
He was predeceased by his wife Esther (Nash) Taylor, February 14, 2007 and his brother Alan (Merton) Taylor, May 31, 2004.
Family includes daughter Cindy Mason of Greenfield Mass., son Curtiss Taylor Jr. of York, S.C,. son Kevin Taylor of Greenfield, Mass., daughter Kathleen Dill of Alton, N.H., son Gibson Taylor of York, S.C., and son Jonathan Taylor of York, S.C.; sister Hilda Wells of South New Berlin and brother Robert Taylor of Amblerville; 10 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; cousins, nieces and nephews.
