William G. Au


SHERBURNE – William G. “Bill” Au, 59, of State Highway 80, passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown.
He was born February 20, 1956 in Syracuse, NY, son of Dr. William Y.W. and Beverly Nessel Au. He received his BA in Industrial Arts from Rochester Institute of Technology and was a self-employed industrial designer. Bill enjoyed fly-fishing, music and dancing. He was a member and secretary of Trout Unlimited, Chenango County Chapter #209.
Bill was a communicant of St. Malachy’s Church in Sherburne where he was always ready to help with church activities or projects. He was a kind and generous person, always willing to help others.
Surviving are his father, Dr. William Y.W. Au of Sherburne; his loving companion, Joy Tracy of Sherburne; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia “Ginger” and Steven Savage of Merrimack, NH; Cindy and Bruce Rosenberg of Germantown, MD; Elizabeth “Liz” and Robert Martinsen of West Linn, OR; nieces Allison, Jennifer, Melanie and Annaliese and nephews Daniel and Nicholas. He was a loving “Paw Paw” to Joy’s grandchildren. His mother, Beverly, predeceased him in 2008.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Saturday, June 27, 2015 at St Malachy’s Church in Sherburne, followed by burial in St. Malachy’s Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne on Friday from 5-8pm.
