MARY L. BOWEN
SHERBURNE – Mary L. Bowen, 90, of Hey Rd., passed away Saturday, June 6, 2015 at home.
She was born April 7, 1925 in Providence, RI, a daughter of Edwin and Elsie Hawchorf Johnson and received her education in local schools. On July 9, 1947, Mary married Charles J. Bowen in Providence. He predeceased her on May 17, 1992. Mary was a homemaker who dedicated her life to raising and caring for her family. Moving to New York in 1980, she had lived in Waterville for 17 years, then with her daughter in Brookfield, and most recently in Sherburne.
Mary is survived by her children, Charles J., III and Honna Bowen of Brookfield; Mary and Bob Hadcock of Country Lakes, NJ; JoAnne and John Stevens of North Brookfield; Eileen and Ronald Wright of Sherburne; Theresa and Dennis O’Brien of Mt. Holly, NJ; Jennifer and Donald Slocum of North Brookfield; a sister and brother-in-law, Dorothy and Harold Wheeler of New Hartford; sister-in-law, Alice Johnson of Coventry, RI; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three brothers, Edward, Ralph and Walter Johnson; and a sister, Doris Johnson.
Private graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Bernard’s Cemetery, Waterville.
The family wishes to thank the Hospice staff for their caring and job well done. God bless you.
