BETHANY ADAMS-SOMICH
Bethany (“Beth”) Adams-Somich, 37, passed away May 21, 2015 at Bassett Medical Center in Cooperstown with family by her side after a courageous battle against a serious illness.
Born November 14, 1977, in Clinton, NY, Beth was the daughter of Theodore (“Ted”) and Leslie (Curtis) Adams. She graduated from Ilion High School and Herkimer County Community College, and then earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Saint Elizabeth’s School of Nursing, having graduated with honors. As a registered nurse, Beth’s assignments included work as a critical care nurse in Bassett’s ICU Unit and its Oncology Department.
Beth is survived by her husband, Peter Somich, of Norwich; father, Ted, of Bradenton, FL; sister, Catherine Ellis, of Ilion, NY; brother, James Allanson, of Brewerton, NY; and grandmother, Bea Ellis, of Clinton. She is also survived by Joe Ellis, of Clinton, NY, two nieces, Darien and Emily Ellis-Jeck, and several uncles and aunts. Beth was predeceased by her mother, Leslie, and grandparents, Ronald and Mary Curtis.
Beth also had an extraordinary love of dogs.
A memorial service for Beth will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 13, 2015, at the Church of the Annunciation, 109 West Street, Ilion, NY. Burial will follow immediately after the service at Armory Hill Cemetery in Ilion.
In lieu of flowers, contribution in Beth’s memory may be made to the Herkimer County Humane Society, 514 NY Highway 5 South, Mohawk, NY 13407.
