STEPHEN H. JACKSON
NORWICH – Stephen H. Jackson, 62, of Norwich, passed away Friday morning, May 29, 2015, in the Albany Medical Center.
Steve was born on January 7, 1953 in Norwich the son of Hobert and Betty (Cummings) Jackson. He grew up in Norwich where he attended the Norwich Schools. Following his education he entered the United States Navy serving his country until his honorable discharge in 1971. Returning home he gained employment with the Norwich City Schools where he worked as a custodian until his retirement in 1991. His his spare time Steve enjoyed wood working, hand crafts, cookouts with family and friends, crossword puzzels and playing bingo.
In 1976 he married Karen Miller who survives.
Besides his wife Karen, Steve his survived by his children; Tonya Shoales and husband Jim of Norwich, Tracey Bruno and husband Bill of Eaton, Tammy Jackson of MI and Raymond Mills and wife Bethany of Beaver Meadow, his sisters; Judy Bennett and husband Maurice of Plymouth, Joyce Neal of Sidney, Pamela Jackson, of Sherburne, Susan Lake and husband Richard of Sherburne and his brother Ronald Jackson of Sherburne. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild along with nieces, nephews and cousins.
Steve was predeceased by his parents Hobert and Betty Jackson and his brother Mark Jackson.
Funeral services for Steve will be held on Friday, June 5, at 10 am from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev Jeremy Stopford, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Earlville will officiate. Interment with military rites will follow in the Deer Pond Cemetery of No. Pharsalia.
Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Friday from 9-10 a.m.
