William Gray


GEORGETOWN – William W. “Bill” Gray, 53, of Georgetown, passed away unexpectedly Monday evening, May 18, 2015, at Wilson Regional Medical Center, Johnson City.
Bill was born June 6, 1961 in Norwich the son of Leland Gray and Linda (Law) Gray Stone. Bill was raised by Frederick Stone, Sr. On January 14, 2012, in Pharsalia, he married Tonya Backus who survives.
Bill worked for the Pennysaver, The Shoe Factory, as well as Gladding’s Rope Factory. He also worked with the family’s sanitation business for a period of time.
Bill enjoyed hunting and fishing as well as camping. He also had a love of western novels and movies. Most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren.
Bill is survived by his wife Tonya of Georgetown; his children William Gray Jr. and Erin of Norwich, Jennifer Cole and Pat of Afton, Seth Dibble and his wife Jonel of Norwich, Cameron Dibble and Brenda of Georgetown, Richard Dibble Jr. and Kimberly of Georgetown and Kimberlyn Misner and Brandon of Georgetown. His brothers and sisters; Sherry Wellman and husband John of Norwich, Penny Stone and Joe Theut of So. Plymouth, Crystal Gray and Homer Adist of Norwich, Becky Gray and Steve Schapp of Georgetown, Sheridan Stone and wife Madeline of So. Plymouth, Frederick Stone, Jr. and wife Cathy of North Carolina, Leland Gray, Jr and Kathy of Unadilla, and Darin Gray. Bill is also survived by 13 beloved grandchildren as well as two on the way. Bill is survived by two very close uncles, Miles Law and John Law.
He was predeceased his daughter Kristy 1982. He was also predeceased by his parents and his brother, Justin Stone.
A Memorial Service to Celebrate the Life of William W. “Bill” Gray will be held on Monday, June 1, 2015, from 3 to 7 p.m. at the Plymouth Fire Station.
Arrangements are by the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home.
