MARGERY A. KOCHER
SHERBURNE – Margery A. Kocher, 80, of Sherburne, passed away Monday morning, May 25, 2015, at the Harding Nursing Home of Waterville.
Margery was born on January 1, 1935 in Norwich the daughter of Robert and Genevieve Colegrove Townsend. She grew up in Norwich where she attended the Norwich schools from which she graduated in 1953. Soon after her graduation Margery gained employment with NBT where she remained until moving to Bradenton, Florida in 1973. It was in Florida Margery and her family owned and operated a motel. She eventually gained employment with Island Bank in 1975 where she worked as head teller, later as branch manager and ultimately as Asst. Vice President. In 1989 Margery moved back to the area and once again gained employment with NBT working as branch manager in Earlville from which she retired in 1997.
Margery is survived by her sons Paul White and companion Tammy Anthony of Sherburne, David White and wife Debbie of Waldorf, MD and her step-son Walt Reid and wife Debbie of Sherburne. Also surviving is her sister Carol Brown and husband Martin of Crimora, VA, 6 grandchildren, 8 step-grandchildren and several great grand, step-great grandchildren, 1 niece and 2 nephews.
Margery was predeceased by her husbands Jack Reid and Levo Kocher, her son Michael White and her brother Robert W. Townsend.
A funeral service for Margery will be held on Thursday, May 28, at noon from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Brian Conover, Pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church of Norwich will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at Noon.
