MABLE HART
LINCKLAEN – Mable was born on January 5, 1923 in Lincklaen, NY the daughter of Elmer and Mary (Wilcox) Locke. She grew up on the family farm in Lincklaen and attended school in South Otselic. On November 16, 1937 in DeRuyter she married Corry K. Hart, Sr. who passed away January 3, 1967. She and her husband moved to Cuyler where they made their home until 1944. They then moved to Harford, DeRuyter, South Otselic and No. Pitcher. In the mid 1980’s she moved to Norwich.
Over the years Mable has worked for the Crescent Corsett Factory in Cincinnatus, the Out Reach Program for Cortland County and while in Norwich she worked for Kimberly Quality Care until her retirement in 1994. She enjoyed working on family geneology, family history, sewing , knitting and crocheting. Mable was a longtime and faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints of Norwich.
Mable is survived by her children: Rose Anne Shaw and husband Fred of Murphysboro, NC, Sara Beth Burlison of Norwich, Carol Janet Lambert of Norwich, Leon Clarence Hart of Earlville, Gloria Dawn Hart and husband Kris Smith of Morrisville. Also surviving are many grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her husband Corry, Mable was predeceased by her children Connie Brienza, Lorena Hart, Corry Hart, Jr., Joan Duquay, Charles Hart, her sisters Gertrude Lapp, Bertha Mayerle, Delia Bartholomew, Minnie Bartholomew, Grace Fuller and her brothers Andrew, Clayton, Lucian, Clarence and Winfield Locke.
A funeral service for Mable will be held on Friday, May 29, at 11 a.m. from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Cuyler Cemetery.
Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11.
