GRACE M. DAVIDSON
SHERBURNE – Grace M. Davidson, 94, of Route 12, passed away Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at her home.
She was born June 1, 1920 in Sherburne, NY a daughter of George and Mary Newman Moran, and was a graduate of Sherburne High School. On August 18, 1942, Grace married Richard “Dick” Davidson at St. Malachy’s Church in Sherburne. A lifelong Sherburne resident, Grace assisted her husband in the operation of their dairy farm. Dick predeceased her on April 22, 1996. Grace took great pride in her lawns and gardens, doing all the maintenance on them herself with loving care.
She was a member of St. Malachy’s Church, and the Altar and Rosary Society.
Surviving are her children, John and Susan Davidson, William and Alette Davidson, all of Sherburne; Patricia and Dean Sanderson of Towanda, PA; nine grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Also surviving are Clarence and Helen Rowe, and their daughter, Deborah, who Grace considered her family. She was predeceased by two grandsons, Elliott Davidson and Brian Sanderson; and two sisters, Mary Wickham and Patricia Barnes.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Saturday, May 23, 2015 at St. Malachy’s Church, East State St., Sherburne, followed by interment in St. Malachy’s Cemetery.
At Grace’s request there will be no calling hours.
Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Legion Post #876, Sherburne, NY 13460; or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, PO Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne, NY.
