NORWICH – Helga Finkelstein, 68, of Cortland and formerly of Norwich, passed away Thursday evening, Aug. 24, 2009 in the Cortland Hospital.
Helga was born in Germany in April of 1941 and eventually moved to New York City. While living in New York, she met and married Irving Finkelstein, who passed away several years ago. She worked as a bookkeeper in the New York City area and in 2000 moved to the upstate New York area.
Helga was a very generous and outgoing individual who would always want to do for others. She enjoyed a good game of bingo and loved to go to the casino.
Helga is survived by her sister, Toni Dusold, along with several nieces and nephews.
Graveside services for Helga will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday from the Mt. Hope Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
