NORWICH – Thelma L. Stalter, 87 years, formerly of Norwich, passed away Monday evening, Aug. 31, 2009, in Chenango Memorial Hospital.
She was born Dec. 3, 1921 in Indianapolis, the daughter of Fred and Bessie Weaver Vest. She had been a resident of Norwich for many years before moving to The Bida Home in Oxford.
Thelma is survived by her four children, Judith Harrington and her fiancé Roy Franklin, Norwich; William Fravala and his wife Cheryl, Jacksonville, Fla.; Shirley Twilliger and her husband Ronald, Rochester; and Ronald Houghtalen and his wife Sharon, Syracuse; her sister, Freda May Sims, Indianapolis; and her brother, William Fred Vest, Indianapolis. Also surviving are 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at the Norwich Assembly of God Church, Silver St., Norwich, with the Rev. Dennis McKenna officiating. There will be no calling hours.
Thelma’s family would like to thank all her friends at the Bida Home for all the care she received during her time there.
