DONNA V. MORRISON
OXFORD – Donna V. Morrison, 66, of Oxford, passed away Wednesday afternoon, April 1, 2015, at the Wilson Hospital in Johnson City.
Donna was born on June 2, 1948 in New Berlin the daughter of Samuel and Marian (Spencer) Veronesi. She grew up in the New Berlin and Edmeston area and was a graduate of the Edmeston High School. Over the years Donna had served as the organist for several churchs including the New Berlin First Baptist Church, Edmeston and the Columbus Community Church. She had also worked for New York Central Mutual Ins. Co. as a clerk.
Donna was a lady who had a mind of her own. She was a lover of nature, loved all animals especially cats, enjoyed going on train rides, puttering around outside and working with her flowers. She enjoyed going to the casino to see Kenny Rogers and Volkswagon bugs. Above all else she loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.
Donna is survived by her children; Janelle Lamb of Oxford, Amy Friot of Norwich, Keith Friot and wife Ellen Scarlett of Columbia, SC her grandchildren Andrew Hadlock, Sarah Hadlock, Heath Hadlock Vanessa Hadlock all of Oxford, Austin Friot of Plymouth, Travis Friot, Joseph Scarlet and Samantha Friot all of Columbia, SC. Also surviving is her daughter-in-law Debbie Friot of Plymouth and her cousin Richard Veronesi of Phoenix, NY.
Donna was predeceased by her son Michael Friot.
A funeral service for Donna will be held on Tuesday, April 7, at 5 p.m. from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Stephen Reese, Pastor of the Columbus Community Church, will officiate. Interment will be at a later date in the Mt.Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Tuesday from 3-5 p.m.
