VERA KIRKLAND
BAINBRIDGE – Vera Margaret “Peggy” Kirkland 93 of Bainbridge passed away Sunday, March 22, 2015 at the A.O Fox Nursing Facility in Oneonta.
She was born in Shorncliffe, Kent, England September 1, 1921 the daughter of Charles and Gertrude Knigswell Clark.
Peg married Sgt. Ward D. Kirkland in Winchester, England September 1, 1945, who predeceased her August 22, 1998.
She was a registered nurse in England, Wales, and New York State.
Peg was employed by The Hospital in Sidney from August 1946 until September 1988 when she retired.
Peg was a member of the Sidney Ouleout-Masonville Order of Easter Star, the Bainbridge Women’s Club, and a former member of the New York State Nurses Association.
She is survived by Peggy Weatherdon, her goddaughter, her husband Jim and daughter Lauren, Langley, BC. Cananda and close friends.
Graveside services will be in the West Bainbridge Cemetery in the spring.
