SOUTH PLYMOUTH – Norman Gerald Bair, 68, of South Plymouth, passed away Friday, March 13, 2015 at the Chenango Memorial Hospital with Joyce, his wife of 49 years, by his side.
Norm was born December 15, 1946 in Norwich the son of Gordon and Ruth (Manwarren) Bair. He is survived by his wife Joyce of South Plymouth, three daughters Annette Bair of FL, Wendy Elliott and husband Neil of Afton, Melissa Mesko of FL, his brother Victor Shadel and wife Bonnie of No. Norwich, sisters Betty Hare of NC, Rosealine Horton of Sherburne, Sylvia McNitt and husband Barry of Norwich and Patty Donnelly and husband Sam of Norwich. For Norm his family was his world and enjoyed his time spent playing with his grandchildren Amanda Mesko, Katelyn Mesko, Desiree’ Mesko, Mikol Mesko, Shannon Crane, Gerald Elliott, Angeline Elliott and great grandchildren Connor Hannah, Hailey LeMaster, Annebelle Collins and Joanna Mesko. Also surviving is his mother-in-law Betty Benson, sister-in-laws Rosemary Wilcox and husband Gene, Marjorie Graves and brother-in-laws Herbert Benson and wife Rodana and Rick Benson as well as many friends.
Norm had worked for Bennett-Ireland until it’s closing. He then became employed by Procter&Gamble in Norwich for 40 plus years as a Tech 2 Supervisor. He enjoyed time spent on day trips to water parks with his grandchildren as well as golfing, softball, bowling, snowmobiling and hunting. Norm was also a Hot Rod enthusiast having bought, fixed and sold many over the years.
At Norm’s request there will be no funeral service.
The family has asked that donations be made to the American Heart Association, P.O.Box 3049, Syracuse, NY 13220 or to the American Diabetes Association, Syracuse NY Office, 6390 Fly Road, 2nd floor, East Syracuse, NY 13057.
