JULIO MENDOZA
BOGOTA, COLUMBIA – Julio Mendoza, 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 5, 2015 at his home in Bogota, Columbia with his family by his side. He was battling cancer for months.
He is survived by his wife Aura de Mendoza of Bogota, Columbia; his daughter Patricia Mendoza-Dempsey, his son-in-law Steven Dempsey, and his granddaughter Andrea Dempsey of Oxford, N.Y.; his granddaughter Megan Lankford of Arkansas, and his grandson James Dempsey of Alabama (both formerly of Oxford, N.Y.).
He is also survived by his daughter Cristina Mendoza, his son Fernando Mendoza, his daughter-in-law Doris Acevedo, and his grandson Leandro Mendoza of Bogota, Columbia. His four sisters, a brother, and many nephews and nieces also survive.
He was a hard worker, working most of his life for different insurance companies. He enjoyed travel, good food, and he was a soccer fanatic.
Funeral services and a Mass were held at Porciuncula Catholic Church in Bogota, Columbia, on Saturday, March 7, 2015. There are burning candles in his memory at Saint Joseph's Roman Catholic Church in Oxford N.Y.
