CAROL J. ULRICH
SHERBURNE – Carol J. Gardner Ulrich, 72, of Knapp Rd., passed away Saturday, February 28, 2015 at Faxton-St. Luke’s Healthcare in New Hartford.
She was born May 17, 1942 in Bloomsburg, PA, a daughter of Paul and Jean Sanderson Gardner. Carol was a graduate of Moosic High School, attended Mansfield State College, and graduated from SUNY, Morrisville with honors. She later attended Oneonta State College on a scholarship. On September 23, 1961, Carol married Kenneth R. Ulrich in Moosic, PA. Carol was a certified home health aide at Family Home Care in Sherburne. She had also taught English at the Valley Heights Academy in Norwich, where she was also a substitute teacher for many years.
She was a member of the Christian Baptist Church in Sherburne where she taught Sunday school. She was a former member and Past Matron of the O.E.S. #501 of Hamilton; a Boy Scout den mother, and Girl Scout leader for many years. She loved quilting and was a member of the Fat Cat Quilting Club and the Americana Village Quilters.
Carol is survived by her husband, Kenneth; her children, Kenneth and Tammy Ulrich of Port Deposit, MD; Mark and Patricia Ulrich of Crossville, TN; Susan Delmonico and husband Alan Sanders of Cartersville, GA; Michael and Sabrina Ulrich of Sherburne; a brother, Bruce Gardner of Tunkhannock, PA; grandchildren, Ethan, Caleb, Noah, Alexandra, Sophia, Jonathon, Sierra, Kenneth “Joshua”; step-grandchildren, Jeanette, Alicia, Michael, Ashton and Elena. She was predeceased by a son Jonathan in 1977, a step granddaughter Tracy Lynn Fisher and a special “Fresh Air” son, Felipe Pagan, who spent many summers with the family.
Funeral services will be held at 7pm Friday, March 6, 2015, from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday from 5-7pm prior to the service.
Interment will be private at the convenience of her family.
