Gary E. Theodore

GARY E. THEODORE
OXFORD – Our beloved father, grandfather, brother and friend Gary “Ted” Edward William Theodore, finally found peace on Sunday, February 15, 2015.
Gary, born on October 30, 1942 was the only son of Juanita and Joseph Theodore. He was predeceased by his wife and the mother of his children, Naomi Jean (Marshall) Theodore.
Surviving are his daughters, Nancy Marshall, Binghamton, Karen Louise Theodore-Menhennett and son-in-law Reeves, Harpursville. His sons, Matthew Theodore and daughter-in-law Susan, Oxford, Andrew Theodore and daughter-in-law Jennifer, Dallas, Texas. The pride and joy of his life his grandchildren; granddaughter, Kayla Elizabeth, grandsons, Dalton, Reeves “Bubby” and Jesse. Sisters and brothers-in-law, Patricia and Dennis Sullivan, Endwell, Katherine and Ray Lubniewski, Binghamton, Nancy and Pat Cullings, Albany.
A very heartfelt thank you goes to all of his friends and the staff at the NYS Veteran’s Home in Oxford. You became his family in the last years of his life and he thought the world of many of you. Gary was raised and went to school in Binghamton, NY before joining the United States Navy. After receiving an honorable discharge he took a job in printing and that became his career.
Gary passed on his love of politics, the Boston Red Sox and Elvis Presley to his only granddaughter Kayla, his love for knowledge and Alan Jackson to his oldest grandson Dalton, his love of Batman and jokes to his Power Ranger Bubby, and to his youngest grandson Jesse his love and passion for cars. He was very patriotic and loved his Country very much.
Gary had an immense love for music that he passed on to all of his children and grandchildren. We were even able to share one last chorus of Love Me Tender, Can’t Help Falling in Love with You and God Bless America with him and boy did he love it! Gary loved to reminisce about his favorite childhood memories of fishing with his sister Patty at their Uncle Bill and Aunt Viney’s camp in Lordville, NY. We believe this brought him much comfort toward the end, when we talked about it, he would smile. There will be no services. Those wishing to honor Gary’s memory may do so by making a contribution in his name to the Military or Children’s organization of your choice. Gary’s stubbornness came through right to the very end; he could not have fought harder. On-line condolences may be made at: www.omaddenfh.com. Arrangements by the Osterhoudt-Madden Funeral Home 69-71 Maple Street Harpursville.
“Love me tender, love me true, all my dreams fulfilled. For my darlin’ I love you and I always will.” ~ Elvis Presley
