CHARLOTTE PRICE
NORWICH – Charlotte Price, 91, of Norwich, passed away Friday evening, February 13, 2015, at the Norwich Rehabilitation Center where she has made her home for the past several years.
Charlotte was born on the Dockstader Homestead in West Burlington, NY on May 13, 1923 the daughter of George and Myrtle Dockstader. She attended eight grades at the country school in West Burlington and graduated from the Edmeston Central School with the class of 1941.
Charlotte married Robert Schwenk on May 9, 1943. She was a housewife and raised three daughters which were the love of their lives. In her working career, Charlotte spent 28 years of her life in sales. She worked for 18 years as unit manager for Stanley Home Products and then for Fashion Wagon Minnesota Woolens. Charlotte loved her family and work.
On September 27, 1986 in Norwich she married James Price who passed away May 25, 2012. They enjoyed many things together in their retirement years especially dancing.
Charlotte is survived by her 3 daughters: Shirley Breaux and husband Weldon of Sulphur, LA, Irene McCumber and husband Norman of Wells Bridge, Cindy Davis and husband Tim of Cincinnati, OH, 3 step daughters: Alta Price and husband Len Antaris of Bettendorf, Iowa, Jeannie Price of Bellevue, WA and Veda Moretti and husband Robert of Bellevue, WA. Also survivng are her grandchildren, Jennifer Taylor and husband Greg, Jeffrey Davis, Kevin McCumber and wife Carol and Terry McCumber and her great grandchildren Kyle McCumber, Davis Taylor and Embry Taylor along with 7 step-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides her husbands Robert and James, Charlotte was predeceased by her sisters Lena Kellogg, Iva Dutton, Elsie Hopson and her brothers Ralph, Earl and Leon Dockstader.
A funeral service for Charlotte will be held on Thursday, February 19, at 3 pm from the R. J. Fahy Funeral Home. Friends may call at the R. J. Fahy Funeral Home on Thursday from 12- 3 pm. Interment will be at a later date in the Union Cemetery of Edmeston.
