SHIRLEE McCABE
DOYLESTOWN, PA – Shirlee 'Lee' Smith McCabe of Doylestown, Pa., passed away on Jan. 3, 2015 in Doylestown Hospital after a long illness with cancer. She was 79.
Lee was born in Cooperstown, N.Y. to Harry William and Evelyn Wheeler Smith on June 26, 1936. She earned a degree from Cazenovia College.
Lee worked in the graphic arts and design field for many years and then later became a business owner. She loved life, enjoyed helping people, and spending time with her family and friends.
Lee is preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Evelyn Smith; her husband, Harry McCabe; and her brother, Robert Smith. She is survived by her brothers, H. William Smith and Edward Smith of Cooperstown, N.Y., and James Smith of Norwich, N.Y.; her sister, Rosebelle Broeffle of Vero Beach, Fla.; her daughter, Heather Sharpless of Washington, D.C.; her son, John Durant of Albany, N.Y.; and four granddaughters, Hallie Sharpless of Washington, D.C., Sarah Sharpless of Boulder, Colo., and Jaime Durant and Alyssa Durant of Albany, N.Y.
Lee was ardent and lovely and will be remembered lovingly by all of her family and friends.
