ANNA E. PARSONS
SHERBURNE – Anna E. Barley Parsons, 90, of Sherburne, passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at the Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
She was born July 31, 1924 in Sherburne, a daughter of Jacob and Elsie Howard Barley and was a graduate of Sherburne High School. On July 25, 1943, Anna married Donald M. Parsons in Sherburne. He predeceased her on April 2, 2007. Anna had worked at Chesebrough Ponds in Sherburne, Sherburne-Earlville Central School, and the Head Start Program in North Norwich. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother who loved to follow all of her family’s many activities. She enjoyed several hobbies, including crocheting, knitting, playing games - especially cards, and doing word searches. She also enjoyed listening to polka music.
Anna was a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 876 of Sherburne.
Surviving are her children, Barbara & Roy Pierce, Linda and Charlie Giordano, Kevin and Patsy Parsons, all of Sherburne; David and Suk Cha Parsons, Lisa and Pat Darling, all of Norwich; Kathy and George Martone of Endicott; 13 grandchildren, Allen (Yvette) Pierce of Earlville; Kristen Boice of Sherburne; Jennifer (Greg) Brown of Princeton, NJ; Chuck (Kate) Giordano, of Pittsburgh, PA; Un Hui (Richard) Cheung of Hong Kong; Linda Ann (Nathan) Reese of Endwell; David (Deanna) Parsons, Jr. of Sherburne; Ashley (Mike) Folli of Endicott; Sara Parsons of Sherburne; Joshua (Ashley) Parsons of Sherburne; Jacob (Nikki) Parsons of Earlville; Kaitlyn Darling and Bradley Darling, both of Norwich; 17 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 1pm Friday, February 13, 2015 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday from 6-8pm, and on Friday from 11am to 1pm prior to the service.
Interment will be in the Sherburne Quarter Cemetery in the spring.
