Royce B. Nichols

ROYCE B. NICHOLS
SMYRNA – Royce B. Nichols, 87, of Smyrna, NY passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at the Chase Memorial Nursing Home of New Berlin.
Born on January 19, 1927, Royce was the son of Lynn and Grace Silvey Nichols. Anybody that knew Royce knew that he was a man that took joy in the simpler things in life, even if it was just going for a walk down the street, watching some of his favorite westerns, or smoking his pipe (which he never inhaled). Royce was a man that was always on the go and it seems like he never tired no matter the task that he was doing, one of his favorite places to go was to visit with his next-door neighbors Charles and Marion Arnold, wherein he would sit and enjoy a cup of coffee and talk among friends.
Royce is survived by his brother Clayton Salisbury of Solvay, his nephews Roger Thompson, Raymond (Nancy)Thompson, Rexford Thompson, Lynn Nichols, and Douglas Nichols and his nieces Linda Clements, Joyce Clements, and Janet Symonds. Also surviving are his great-nieces and great nephews; Vicki, Connie, Candy, Mark, Russell, Jonathan, Frank, Chad, Tavin, Rex Jay, Randall, Karen, and Melissa. Several great-great nieces and great-great nephews also survive.
A graveside service for Royce will be held in the springtime at the Butternuts Cemetery in the spring.
Arrangements are entrusted to the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home, 116 North Broad Street, Norwich, New York 13815.
