JOHN RAWLUK
McDONOUGH – John M. Rawluk, Jr., 64, of McDonough, passed away unexpectedly on December 11, 2014 at Cortland Regional Medical Center.
Born April 19, 1950, in Jersey City, NJ, John was the son of John Michael and Mariantonia (Girardi) Rawluk, each of whom predeceased John. He graduated from South River High School, in South River, NJ, with the Class of 1968. For 31 years he worked as a plumber and pipefitter with the Local 9 Pipefitters of Englishtown, NJ.
On October 26, 1990, in Jamesburg, NJ, John married his wife of 24 years, Michaela (Kirwin) Rawluk, who survives. After retiring, John and his wife relocated in 2001 to their beloved country home, in McDonough. In retirement, John found joy in tinkering, and being a handyman for his family, neighbors and friends. He enjoyed the outdoors, caring for his animals, and, in particular, riding on his Harley Davidson Tri-Glide. Most of all, John was a devoted and loving spouse, father, godfather, grandfather and, just recently, great-grandfather.
In addition to his wife, John is survived by his children John M. Rawluk III, and his wife, Allyson, of Doylestown, PA, Katie Mae and Kristin Rawluk, both of McDonough, and Katherine DeMartino, and her husband, John, of Little Egg Harbor, NJ; grandchildren Samantha, Nicholas, Avery and Parker; and great-granddaughter, Emma. He is also survived by his sister Maryann Bowker, and her husband, William, of Myrtle Beach, SC, and several nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his sister, Stephanie Rawluk, and son, Robert Sova.
