CORA I. JOHNSON
COLUMBUS – Cora I. Johnson, 100 yrs. old of the Town of Columbus, NY passed away on December 7, 2014 at her home.
Cora was born on September 12, 1914 in the Town of Columbus, the daughter of Bouton & Myrtle (Chesebro) Whitney. Her childhood was spent in the Columbus area. She was a 1932 graduate of Sherburne High School. On January 23, 1937, she married Robert Johnson who predeceased her in 1989.
Cora enjoyed baking and made many wedding cakes for friends and family.
She is survived by her daughter; Eileen Johnson of the Town of Columbus, her grandchildren; Michael Johnson of Pittsfield, NY, Pat & Rachel Johnson of New Berlin, NY and Willy & Jennifer Kapp of Pittsfield, NY as well as her great grandchildren; Brock, Taylor, Kora & Kerri Johnson and Brenden & Kennedy Kapp.
She was predeceased by one son; Donald B. Johnson on February 5, 2011, three brothers Robert, Charles & Ted Whitney, and one sister Inez Benson.
A memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family.
The interment will be in the Columbus Corners Cemetery, Town of Columbus, NY.
