PATRICIA D. COWLES
GREENE – Patricia D. Cowles, 78, of Greene passed away early Friday morning, December 5, 2014, in the Norwich Rehabilitation & Nursing Center of Norwich.
Pat was born on August 23, 1936 in Norwich the son of Thomas and Ruth (Wilson) Downey. She grew up in Oxford and was a graduate of the Oxford High School. Following her education she gained employment with the Raymond Corporation for a period of two years. She subsequently went to work for the Norwich Pharmacal Co and Victory Markets. Pat’s last employment was with Chenango County where she worked in the Dept. of Motor Vehicles.
On July 1, 1961 in Guilford Center she married Carl L. Cowles who survives.
Besides her husband Carl of Greene, Pat is survived by her son Michael Cowles and wife Carla of Pensacola, FL, her grandchildren David Cowles, Samantha Mills and husband Blake and great grandchildren. Pat is also survived by her brothers Richard Downey and wife Glenna of Norwich, Edward Downey of Nevada and Robert Downey of Norwich. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Pat was predeceased by her brother Donald Downey.
A funeral service for Pat will be held on Thursday, December 11, at noon from the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. David Hanselman of Greene will officiate. Interment will be in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Thursday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at noon.
