MARION K. WARNER
NORWICH – Marion K. Warner, 83, of Norwich, passed away Thursday evening, Nov. 27, 2014, at home surrounded by her family.
Marion was born on May 4, 1931 in Preston the daughter of Linn and Elvira (Franklin) Kenyon. She attended grade school in Preston and was a 1949 graduate of the Oxford High School. On April 30, 1950 in Norwich she married Lawrence (Buck) Warner who passed away November 23, 1991. A hard worker all of her life, Marion tended to her husband and children always making sure they had a home cooked meal and a warm, comfortable home. A great cook and baker, she made countless wedding cakes for many area families. Following her husbands retirement, Marion went to work for the Norwich City School System working in the cafeteria.
Marion was a life long member of the First Baptist Church of Norwich where she held various offices within the church and was always there helping with bazaars and dinners. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling, especially bus trips, was an avid bowler and an took occasional trips to the casino.
Marion is survived by her children Rodrick Warner and wife Kathleen of Fairfax, VA, Kathleen Proskine and husband Thomas of South New Berlin, Lorraine Warner of Norwich and Randy Warner and wife Cindy also of Norwich. Also surviving are her sisters Bessie Burdick of Norwich, Roselia (Rosie) Moreau of Oxford, her brother James Kenyon of Oxford, and sister-in-law Arleta West of Boise, Idaho. Marion is also survived by her grandchildren Robert Proskine and wife Patty, Matthew Proskine and fiancee Tonya, Loni Saltis and husband Kevin, Rory Warner, Cale Warner, Samantha Warner, Brian Weinberg and wife Kristy and Kevin Weinberg and wife Dana, 10 great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides her husband Lawrence, Marion was predeceased by her sisters Ruth Rippo, Elvira Mudge, Florence Kenyon, Alice Kenyon and her brothers Linn and Charles Kenyon.
Graveside services for Marion will be held in the spring from the Foster Cemetery.
In keeping with Marion’s wishes there will be no calling hours.
Memorial contributions in Marion’s memory may be made to the First Baptist Church, 10 West Park Place, Norwich, NY 13815
