MARILYN M. QUINNEY
GUILFORD – Marilyn Milena Quinney of Guilford, NY passed away on November 25 at the age of 67. She was born in Norwich, NY to Ella Louise and Paul Irvin Miller on September 10, 1947. Marilyn is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Tammy and Patrick Sweeney of Tewksbury, NJ; daughter and son-in-law Theresa and Greg Danylak of Rochester, NY, along with their children/her grandchildren Rowan and Maeve Danylak; mother Louise Miller of North Pitcher, NY; sister and brother-in-law Jackie and Bob Wilcox of Norwich, NY; and brother and sister-in-law David and Linda Miller of Pitcher, NY. Marilyn is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Douglas Quinney, father Paul Miller as well as her sister Barbara Kaiser and brother Dennis Miller.
Marilyn attended Otselic Valley High School and graduated in 1965. She went on to earn an Associate’s Degree in Business Administration at State University of New York at Morrisville. Marilyn’s career began in banking, and she eventually transitioned out of this profession to become a full-time mom, caring for and raising her two daughters, Tammy and Theresa.
Marilyn’s involvement in the community included volunteer work for hospitals in both Sidney and Norwich, most recently serving as Auxiliary President at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital. Chenango Memorial Hospital Auxiliary supports and unites with Chenango Memorial Hospital in its mission to provide auxiliary services to hospital customers and the community through education, fundraising, outreach, and volunteerism. In addition to volunteering, Marilyn enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, quilting/sewing, reading, cooking/baking, and dinner club get-togethers.
Friends are invited to call on Saturday, December 6 from 10 a.m. to noon at C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main Street, Sidney, NY.
