DONALD C. HALL
SHERBURNE – Donald C. Hall, 83, of Chenango Ave., formerly of North Norwich, passed away Monday, November 17, 2014 at his home.
He was born August 6, 1931 in Norwich, a son of the late Archie and Lucy Breed Hall and was a graduate of Norwich High School. Donald married Dorothy Thompson who predeceased him on April 8, 1969. He married Barbara Harrington in Sherburne on February 18, 1972. She predeceased him on December 5, 2010. Don worked at NBT Bank in Norwich for 43 years until his retirement. He was the head of the Audit Department for over 20 years, and Vice President of the Administrative Division.
Don was very civic minded and committed to his community. He had been a member and treasurer of the North Norwich Fire District; served on the Sherburne-Earlville School Board for 14 years; was a Trustee of the Village of Sherburne for 6 years; and a volunteer at Chenango Memorial Hospital.
He was a member of the Church of the Epiphany in Sherburne.
Surviving are his children, Tamara Hall of Norwich; Beth and Steve Roach of Oxford; Carrie Brown of Homer; Peggy and Douglas Schallenberg of Westernville; step-children, Cynthia L. and Donald Rogers of Norwich; Michele A. and Stanley Barker of Lee Center; sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Robert Pike of OK; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Dorothy Hall, Harley and Sandy Hall, all of Norwich; sixteen grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at 10am Thursday, November 20, 2014 from the Church of the Epiphany, Classic St., Sherburne, followed by interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Norwich.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne on Wednesday from 5-7 p.m.
