NEW BERLIN – Linda Mae Miles, 74 years old of New Berlin, NY passed away unexpectedly on November 4, 2014 at 2:45AM in Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Linda was born in the Town of Butternuts on August 26, 1940 to Grant A. Prindle and Mildred (Moore) Prindle. When she was 18 months old, she was adopted by Grant Prindle’s youngest sister, Florence (Prindle) Olds and her husband Kenneth G. Olds. Both sets of parents have predeceased her.
Linda is survived by her husband Ray of 57 years; her half-sister Leah Balla of Plymouth, NY; two sons: Timothy L. of Pottstown, PA and Brian K. of New Berlin, NY; one daughter Jane (Miles) Hathaway of Rock Stream, NY; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and many cousins, nephews and nieces.
She attended the First Baptist Church of New Berlin with her husband Ray.
Linda was an old-fashioned homemaker who loved taking care of her growing family. She and Ray loved vegetable gardening – freezing and preserving what they grew and enjoyed making fudge and donuts together. She was an accomplished seamstress who loved sewing, knitting and crocheting for her family and others. She loved playing the piano and caring for stray cats.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 10, 2014 from noon to 2 p.m. at the Dakin Funeral Home LP, New Berlin, NY with a funeral service immediately following also at the funeral home. Pastor Dan Baltich of the First Baptist Church, New Berlin will officiate. The interment will be held in the Maplewood Cemetery, Mt. Upton, NY.
