GRANT J. WILCOX
NORWICH – Grant J. Wilcox, 84, former long time Norwich resident and most recently of Adams, NY, passed away early Thursday morning, October 23, 2014 at the home of his nephew Lynn Wilcox of Adams.
Grant was born on January 13, 1930 in Utcia, NY the son of Lynn and Agnes (Loren) Wilcox. He came to the Norwich area in 1955 where he made his home with his wife, Louise, who passed away August 3, 2013. They were married on May 1, 1954 in St. Regis Falls. While living in Norwich he was employed for 34 years by the Amphenol Corp. as a machinist and was a member of St. Bartholomew’s Roman Catholic Church. Grant moved to Adams just four weeks ago to be closer to his family.
Grant is survived by his nieces and nephews, Lynn Wilcox and wife Cindy of Adams, Glenn Joseph Wilcox and companion Carol Wengert of Westmorland, Joan Wilcox of Utica, Kim Seelman and husband John of Verona, Gary Plunkett and wife Ginny of Rome, Denise Garofalo and husband Jim of Malboro along with several other nieces and nephews. Also surviving is a very special frined Al Tripp, the Bob and Terry Collins family and the John and Sharon Provo family all of Norwich.
Besides his wife Louise, Grant ws predeceased by his sisters, Shirley Houle and Reva Liebiednik and brothers Lyle (Bud) and Leslie Wilcox.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, October 29, at 11 am from St. Bartholomew’s Roman Catholic Church. The Rev. Ralph A. Bove, Pastor, will officiate. Interment services will be held on Thursday, October 30, at 11:30 am from St. Ann’s Cemetery in St.Regis Falls.
Friends may call at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home on Wednesday morning from 9:30 - 10:30.
