Louise M. Parker


SOUTH NEW BERLIN – Louise M. Parker, 83, of S. New Berlin, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at her home. Louise was born on July 1, 1931, daughter of the late Clarence Hunter and Marie Ida Nightengale. Louise attended McDonough School and raised her family in S. New Berlin.
Louise took great pride in her family. Louise was a devoted mother and grandmother, she raised her 9 children and always had room in her home and heart to look after other children in the neighborhood. Louise had a green thumb and she enjoyed feeding the birds. Louise had many pets and loved animals. She will be remembered as a kind and loving mother and grandmother.
Louise is survived by her children, Ginny Parker of S. New Berlin, Carol and her husband Ken Lawrence of Edmeston, Dot and her husband Mike Barry of S. New Berlin, Morton and his wife Bonnie Parker of S. New Berlin, Cindy and her husband Gene Knapp of New Berlin, Mark and his wife Lynn Parker of Norwich, Cris and her husband Roger Johnson of S. New Berlin, Arnold and wife Tracey Parker of Norwich, Mike Parker of New Berlin, sister, Maude and her husband Jack Smith, brothers, Larry and his wife Ruthie Hunter of Sylvan Beach, Rev. Bob and his wife Doris Prentice of McDonough, Don Prentice and companion Cindy of Vernon, sisters-in-law, Virginia Titus of Norwich, Naomia Grewe of Norwich, Dorothy Clark of Ballston Spa, 22 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and several step grandchildren.
Louise was predeceased by her husbands, Morton Parker and Clayton R. Parker, daughter, Joy Elaine, sisters, Betty and Patty, brother, Carl, grandsons, Brian Daniels and Frankie Whitehill, sons-in-law, Jesse Kuhn and Ernie Card, brother-in-law, Durwood and sister-in-law Helen.
A funeral service for Louise was held on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at R.J. Fahy Funeral Home at 12 noon with the Rev. Robert Prentice officiating. Friends called for the family from 10 am until 12 noon on Tuesday. Interment was held following the service at Riverside Cemetery in South New Berlin. Family and friends gathered afterward for a luncheon at the S. New Berlin Fire Dept. to share memories in honor of Louise.
