DORIS MAE VANEVERA BOSWORTH
CHINA GROVE, NC – Mrs. Doris Mae VanEvera Bosworth, of China Grove, NC passed away October, 21, 2014 at The Laurels of Salisbury.
Born August 15, 1930 in Ilion, NY she was the daughter of the late Willard and Emma Hunt VanEvera. She grew up in Mohawk, NY and graduated from Cortland State University. She also earned her master’s in reading at Oklahoma State University.
Mrs. Bosworth was a beloved teacher for 32 years, earning teacher of the year in Norwich, NY. After retirement, she continued her love for reading by working at First Edition Books then Audio Books in Charlotte.
She and her husband Al traveled with friends every year for golf trips, something she loved. She was an avid sports fan, if Duke basketball was on, she was watching. She was a loving mother and grandmother.
She is preceded in death by her husband Albert Bosworth on January 31, 2009; an infant daughter, Brenda; her brother, Richard, and sister, Marion.
Those left to cherish memory are her daughter, Sandy (Mel) Eaton of China Grove, NC; granddaughter, Kara Eaton of China Grove, NC, Megan Eaton Burgess (Nathan) of Wake Forest, NC; grandson, Ryan Eaton of China Grove, NC; great-grandson, Bexton Burgess of Wake Forest, NC; brothers, Willard VanEvera of Ilion, NY and Robert VanEvera (Linda) of Canastota, NY; along with several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 10-11am at Prospect Presbyterian Church. Memorial service will follow at 11am at Prospect Presbyterian Church with Rev. Charles Davenport officiating. Burial will conclude in the church cemetery.
