MARY QUINN
Mary Loretta Quinn passed away peacefully on Oct. 15, 2014. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Mabel and James Dawson. Mary and her husband Frank owned and operated Quinn’s Diner for over 25 years until his death in 1972. Mary loved to travel, read and sew by hand her unmatchable Bears, Bunnies and Raggetty Dolls. Mary spent a decade in Fullerton, CA working at Loehmanns in the boutique department. She returned to Norwich in 1990 and resided at Golden Age Apts. where she formed many friendships.
Cherished mother to Patrick Quinn of Slingerlands, NY, Kathleen Quinn of Salinas, CA, Tom Quinn of Lakewood, CO. Devoted Mother-in-law to Bernadine(Patrick) Quinn and former Donna Steggs. “Nana” to Kelly (Bruce) Murray of Saratoga, NY, Candice (Christian ) Mannino of Westport, CT, Carly (Todd) Olsen of Wheatridge, CO, Angela (Doug) Lutkus of Slainas, CA, Christopher (Teresa) Geremski of New Haven, CT, Sean (Melissa) Quinn of Orlando, FL and Hadley Quinn of Lakewood, CO. Great grandmother to Kaelin Murray, Gavin Phillips, Rori Quinn, Jack Lutkus, Quinn Olsen, Julia, Katherine, Andrew and Thomas Mannino.
Mary was predeceased by her sisters Zella (Midge) Arts and Helen Hagen and brother Andrew (Jim) Dawson. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
The family would like to thank the amazing, caring staff at the Chase Memorial Nursing Home who loved and watched over her for the last two years. We are eternally grateful to all of them.
According to Mary’s wishes there will be no formal service of calling hours.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of her life on Saturday, October 25, at 11 a.m. from St. Bartholomew’s Roman Catholic Church. The Rev. Ralph A. Bove, Pastor, will officiate. Interment will follow in the Mt. Hope Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please consider memorial contributions in Mary’s memory to Chase Memoria Nursing Home, 1 Terrace Heights, New Berlin, NY 13411.
