BARBARA J. HODGE
OXFORD – Barbara J. Hodge, 80 of Oxford passed away on October 17, 2014 at Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. She was born on October 5, 1934 in Norwich a daughter of the late Herbert and Evelyn (Northrup) Ingraham. On October 16, 1954 she married E. Donald Hodge, who survives.
Besides her husband, Donald, she is survived by her children, Dawn and Keith Schermerhorn of Walton, Kathleen Hodge of Oxford and her daughter in law, Ann (Pickie) Hodge of Oxford; her grandchildren, Alissa Cronin, Kevin Cronin, Kaitlin Cronin, Lee and Jennifer Hodge, Nathan Hodge, and Jesse and Catherine Hodge; her great grandchildren, Morgan, Adrienne, Taylor, Lilly, Preston, Cora, and Grace; her brothers and sisters in law, Herbert Ingraham, Jr. of Norwich, Donald and Jean Ingraham of Sherburne and Barbara C. Hodge of Oxford. She is also survived by her aunt, Pearl Northrup of McDonough and her very special friend, Shirley Proskine. She was predeceased by her son, Terry Hodge, her brother, Francis Ingraham and her brother in law, James Hodge.
Barb was a graduate of Norwich High School. She was a long time member of the United Church of Oxford and served on the consistory. She worked in the Oxford Primary School Cafeteria for 30 years. She was a former leader for 4-H for over 20 years. She was an excellent cake baker and made many wedding cakes. She enjoyed sewing and crafting. He family was very important to her and she especially enjoyed her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 4 p.m. at the United Church of Oxford, 25 Main St., Oxford, NY with Rev. Allen C. Lang officiating. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery, Oxford.
Friends are invited to call at the United Church of Oxford, Oxford on Tuesday from 2-4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Church of Oxford, PO Box 566, Oxford, NY 13830 or to 4-H, c/o Cooperative Extension, 99 N. Broad St., Norwich, NY 13815. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford, NY 13830.
