NORWICH – Dorothy J. Morack, 87, of Norwich, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 12, 2009, at the Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Born in Cadosia in January of 1922, Dorothy was the daughter of the late Harry and Rosa Schraft Crook. On March 2, 1946, in Norwich, she married Stanley W. Morack, who predeceased her on April 7, 1994. Over her years, Dorothy worked for the Scintilla Corporation, the Norwich Knitting Mill, the W.T. Grant Company, the Crescent Corset Factory, and lastly, the Chenango Valley Home in Norwich. A life-long fan of the New York Yankees, she also loved the NASCAR races, doing crossword puzzles, and had bowled for several years.
Dorothy is survived by her sons and their wives: Gary and Connie Morack of Norwich, Thomas and Joann Morack of Moravia, and William and Heather Morack of Norwich; her sisters: Bernice Stephens of Hancock, Frederica Steward of Norwich, and Rena Jackson of Beaver Meadow; and her grandchildren: Brenda Whitehill, Lee Morack, and Christopher Morack. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Private memorial services for Dorothy will be held at the convenience of her family. The Rev. Jeremy Stopford, pastor of the Earlville Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
