FRANK B. GOLDEN
OXFORD – Frank B. Golden, 71 of Oxford passed away unexpectedly on October 12, 2014 at M.I. Bassett Hospital, Cooperstown. He was born on October 31, 1942 in Norwich a son of the late Sherwood M. and Floretta E. (Burdick) Golden.
He is survived by his children, Frank Golden, Jr. of Oneida, Tammy and Reid Wheeler of Zellwood, FL, Kimberly and Richard McCumber of Altamont Springs, FL, Michelle and Jess Altman of Boynton Beach, FL, and Paul and Amanda Golden of Tully; his brothers and sisters in law, Sherwood (Sonny) and Jessie Golden of Oxford, Alan and Shirley Golden of Norwich, and Donald and Dawn Golden of Oxford and his sister in law, Donna Cuyle. He also survived by his grandchildren, Madison Wheeler, Brandon Golden, Kristen Golden, Tyler Golden, Cameron Neal, Mason Altman and Aubrey Altman and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers, Edward P. Golden in 1971 and William Golden in 2008.
Frank was a US Army veteran during the Viet Nam War. He was a member of the American Legion and the Goldwing Club. He was an avid hunter and bowler. He retired from New York State Electric and Gas in 1997. Since then he has run a chauffeur service, and operated a wrecker service for Golden’s Body Shop. He kept busy! His daily routine included coffee in the morning at Oxford Motors, Golden’s Body Shop, Menard’s Garage and Seaman’s among others. He also ran for parts for everybody and enjoyed doing anything he could do, he would for you. He enjoyed playing cards several times a week and looked forward to his turn to host at his house. His biggest passion was his motorcycle trips around the United States and Canada with his good friend, Darryl Lanning. He especially loved his grandchildren and bragged about them all the time.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 at 12 Noon at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford, NY with Pastor Richard Howard officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Norwich.
