DAVID H. WALSH III
ESTERO, Fla – David H. Walsh III, 80, of Estero, FL, died Saturday, October 11, 2014. Formerly of Norwich, NY, he had been an Estero resident since 2004. He was born July 9, 1934 in Albany, NY, the son of Catherine (née Wagner) and David H. Walsh Jr.
He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving honorably in the Korean War. He was retired from the Boston Safe Deposit and Trust Company.
Mr. Walsh is survived by his loving wife, Shirley (née Keenan); his beloved children, Kathleen (James) Coughlin of Lexington, MA, David H. Walsh IV, Michael E. (Helen) Walsh and Marianne Walsh Hanover, all of Syracuse, NY; their mother, Mary A. (née Ferris) Walsh; stepson, Philip (Lisa) Jewell Jr. of Scranton, PA; brother, Neil E. Walsh of New York, NY; and nine cherished grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard P. Walsh and stepdaughter, Linda Tiede.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Light Catholic Church, 19680 Cypress View Drive, Ft. Myers. Private burial services with Military Honors will take place at the Sarasota National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, the Humane Society or the SPCA.
