DEAN E. NICHOLS
SOUTH NEW BERLIN – Dean E. Nichols, 64, of South New Berlin, passed away on Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, at his home.
Dean was born on July 14, 1950 in Sidney, NY the son of Julian and Juanita Leech Nichols. He grew up in the Morris area, was a graduate of the Morris High School and has made his home in South New Berlin for the past 15 years.. He worked for a period of time for the Amphenol Corp. but will be best remembered for his carpentry skills. Over the years he has worked as a self employed carpenter.
Dean enjoyed fishing in the river near his home, playing the guitar which he did by ear and working with his carpentry skills. He always had his own opinion about things and enjoyed his liquid refreshments.
On July 14, 2001 he married Linda Conklin who survives. Besides his wife Linda of South New Berlin, he is survived by his children Jamie Nichols and his wife Cassandra, Jason Nichols and his wife Pamela all of So. New Berlin, Jeremy Nichols and Shane Nichols both of Wilmington, NC, Lisa Marino and husband Bob, Jeff Marino and wife Julene all of Morris, his step-children Danielle Jones and husband Thomas of New Berlin, Heidi Moore of Norwich and Vanessa Furgison of So. Plymouth. Also surviving is his sister Roxanne Brown and husband Michael of Otego, brother Michael Nichols and wife Debra of Gilbertsville along with 16 grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and the mothers of his children Mona Waffle of Morris and Prisella Hall of Bainbridge.
Dean was predeceased by a brother Daniel Nichols.
Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
Arrangements are with the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home.
