JOHN MERRITT DANIELS
NORWICH – John Merritt Daniels, 71, a life long Norwich resident, passed away Friday evening, Sept. 26, 2014, at his home.
John was born on Nov. 30, 1942 in Norwich the son of Ashton and Alice (Wasson) Daniels. He grew up in Norwich and was a 1960 graduate of the Norwich High School. Soon after his education, John entered the United States Air Force serving his country from March of 1962 until his honorable discharge in July of 1964. For many years he was a truck driver for United Van Lines which took him all over the United States. Deciding to remain closer to home, John gained employment with Victory Markets where he delivered bread to all of their stores.
John is survived by his wife of 41 years, Frances (Lyons) Daniels of Norwich, his children Jerry Daniels of CA, Paula of AZ, his step-son Jeff Monroe and his wife Bev of Norwich, his brother Jerry Daniels along with several grandchildren.
John was predeceased by a son John Daniels.
At John’s request there will be no formal services.
