PAUL J. COLLINS
SHERBURNE – Paul J. Collins, 56, of Jacksonville, FL and formerly of Sherburne, NY, passed away Sunday, September 28, 2014.
He was born August 28, 1958 in Hamilton, a son of John W. and Alta Louise Ellis Collins and was a graduate of Sherburne-Earlville High School in 1976. Paul then pursued training as a carpenter’s apprentice. He moved to Florida in 1999 where he was a self-employed carpenter and the owner of Installations Plus in Jacksonville. In his younger years he raced stock cars, and he was always an outdoorsman who enjoyed snowmobiling and four-wheeling. He was a member of the Carpenters Union in Oneonta.
Surviving are his parents, John and Alta of Sherburne; his children, Travis W. Collins, Cody and Lauren Collins, all of Jacksonville, FL; granddaughter, Aislyn Collins; brother and sister-in-law, David and Janet Collins of Sherburne; niece, Danyel (Brody) O’Farrell of Washington, DC; nephew, Jay Collins of Yonkers; grand-nephew, Brayden O’Farrell; several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his sister, Karin Jenne in 2011.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, October 6, 2014, at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
Interment will be in Sherburne Quarter Cemetery.
