BARBARA INGRAHAM
OXFORD – Barbara J. Ingraham, 77, of Oxford, passed away on Wednesday, September 17, 2014 at the Chenango Memorial Hospital RHCF, with her family by her side.
Born May 28, 1937, in Johnson City, NY, Barbara was the daughter of Bruce C. and Esther (Farley) Palmer. She graduated from Oxford Academy and Central School with the Class of 1955 and later attended the Binghamton School of Practical Nursing, where she earned her LPN degree. Barbara worked as a nurse at the NYS Veterans Home in Oxford for 22 years until her retirement.
On May 5, 1956, in Coventry, Barbara married Maurice J. Ingraham, who predeceased Barbara on August 31, 2007. Also surviving are her daughters Debra Kuhn, and her husband, Gerald, of Binghamton, Lisa Shirazi, and her husband, Shem, of Clermont, FL; granddaughter Jennifer Kuhn, and her fiancée, Jimmy Jones, of Castle Creek, NY, grandson Derrick Kuhn, and his fiancée, Kelly Callahan, of Binghamton, NY, granddaughter Rachael Shirazi, of Clermont FL, great-granddaughter, Jordan Jones; and sisters-in-law Barbara J. Ingraham and Joyce Mulvey, each of Oxford. Several cousins, nieces and nephews also survive.
Barbara was a very active member of the United Methodist Church of Oxford. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, gardening, and baking. Barbara also worked with ceramics, and loved birds. She very much enjoyed spending time with friends Donna Wright, Sharon Benjamin, John and Elaine Gilli, and her “Tuesday Morning Coffee Club.”
The Ingraham family expresses its sincerest appreciation for the comforting care provided to their mother by the the 2nd Floor-South staff of the Chenango Memorial Hospital RHCF.
Funeral services for Barbara will be held at 4:00 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 2014, at the Behe Funeral Home, in Oxford, where Rich Howard will officiate. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 p.m.
