Diane Lynn Aikins


NEW BERLIN – Diane Lynn Aikins, 64, of New Berlin passed away Friday afternoon, Aug. 8, 2014, in the Wilson Hospital of Johnson City.
Diane was born in Norwich on Oct. 23, 1949 the daughter of Kenneth and Coral (Letson) Aikins. Over the years she has made her home in Rome, Norwich and New Berlin. She was a very happy person who loved to dance. At times Diane could be sly, but, most of the time was very happy and had a great sense of humor. The holiday’s were her favorite times of the year. She liked to color Easter eggs, loved to bake pumpkin pie for Thanksgiving and would also enjoyed giving the Thanksgiving prayer and adored Santa.
Diane is survived by her sisters Elizabeth Snyder and husband Alan of Wills Point, TX, Theresa Hutton and husband Richard of Patterson, LA, her brothers Ken Aikins and wife Margie of Goldsboro, NC, John Aikins and wife Nancy, Stephen Aikins and wife ViAnn all of Norwich and Dean Aikins of Wills Point, TX. Also surviving are several nieces, nephews, cousins and special frineds Pat and Katie Winton of New Berlin.
Diane was predeceased by her parents Kenneth and Coral.
Graveside services for Diane will be held on Friday, Aug. 15, at 10 a.m. from the Mt. Hope Cemetery. The Rev. Jeremy Stopford, Pastor of the First Baptist Church of Earlville will officiate. There will be no calling hours.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Wilson Hospital for the wonderful care they provided to Diane.
Donations may be made to UHS Foundation, 10-42 Mitchell St., Binghamton, NY 13909 with checks made payable to the UHS Foundation with a notation that it is for the ICU Unit in memory of Diane.
