NORWICH – Victoria L. (“Vickie”) Hendrickson, 56, of Norwich, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Chenango Memorial Hospital.
Born September 2, 1957, in Norwich, Vickie was the daughter of Ray Scott Clark and M. Anna (Johnson-Scott) Kennedy. She was a graduate of Norwich High School and earned a LPN certificate from Morrisville State University. Vickie was employed by various local nursing homes, and more recently was as a caregiver for Sherburne Family Home Care.
Vickie is survived by her mother M. Anna Kennedy, of Norwich, husband Michael Hendrickson, of Norwich, and children Christina (Michael) Caruso, of Endicott, Michael Scott Hendrickson, of Norwich, Paul Hendrickson, of Muncie, IN, and six-month-old granddaughter, April Caruso. She is also survived by siblings Jaqulin Bowman, of Salem, OR, Earnest Cook, of Kenya, Jane Cook, of Shepherdstown, WV, Annette Monday, of Norwich, and Thomas Cook, of Sharpsburg, MD. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Vickie was predeceased by her father, Ray, father-in-law, Thomas J. Kennedy Jr., and brothers Larry Kennedy and Thomas James Kennedy III.
Vickie was a most amazing mother, and was thrilled to have recently become a grandmother, and loved her family dearly. She was talented at crocheting for her children and grandchild, enjoyed gardening, and completing jigsaw puzzles. She also had a large collection of keepsake lions. She will be missed by many and forgotten by none.
A memorial service for Vickie will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 30, at the Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Hinman, pastor, Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the 2:00 p.m. celebration.
